South River Technologies Inc. has been selected by synlab to provide high-availability and encrypted data transfer through its managed file transfer solution, Cornerstone MFT.
Headquartered in Augsburg, Germany, synlab provides pathological laboratory services for human and veterinary medicine and environmental analysis.
synlab's top priorities are modern technologies, innovation and optimal processes, so the company made the decision to upgrade its file transfer technology to meet increasing in-house and customer communications needs. The synlab team worked with SRT partner Meco Systemhaus to trial, then implement, SRT’s Cornerstone MFT.
Cornerstone MFT blends the security of managed file transfer with the productivity of enterprise file sync and share. It enables companies to implement IT security policies, protect confidential at-rest and in-transit data, and provide effortless file-sharing.
synlab uses Cornerstone MFT to exchange various files and data types, but the solution is mainly used to facilitate the secure internal transfer of information between IT systems, and for the secure handling of customer file transfers. All in all, SRT’s solution is in use by approximately 130 users.
"Because we exchange extremely sensitive data, we required a robust solution that was secure, offered support for a broad range of encryption methods, and would provide highly available data storage for our customers. Cornerstone MFT has worked out extremely well for us,” said Benjamin Weiss, system administrator for IT infrastructure at synlab.
