iland appoints technology veteran to help EMEA and APAC companies harness the benefits of cloud

William Rabie joins iland as head of cloud business for EMEA and APAC to address accelerating demand for global cloud hosting and disaster recovery.

iland has appointed William Rabie, former cloud director at CenturyLink, to lead the company’s cloud business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) as well as Asia-Pacific (APAC) regions.

As companies continue to turn to cloud for scalability, agility and cost benefits, they must also address key issues associated with data sovereignty, compliance, transparency, resource management and business continuity. This is especially true as cloud environments expand globally. In his new role, Rabie will help drive iland’s strategy to address the evolving needs of its growing enterprise cloud and disaster recovery customer base throughout EMEA and APAC.

“Companies across EMEA and APAC have unique IT requirements that often complicate cloud adoption and limit return on investment,” said Scott Sparvero, co-founder and CEO of iland. “Even before we opened our first regional data centre in London in 2008, we had met with each customer to understand their diverse needs and ensure that we could deliver enterprise cloud services that fuel both local and global cloud initiatives. William’s proven leadership and expertise will bring new opportunities for iland and its customers, and we welcome him to the team as we continue to expand our services based on customer demands.”

“When I encountered iland as a competitor in the market, it was clear the company delivered the technological innovation and support that enterprise companies need to bypass barriers and fully capitalise on the benefits of cloud,” said William Rabie, head of cloud business for EMEA and APAC at iland. “It’s invigorating to join a company with such passion for its customers and taking on top industry challenges. I look forward to the road ahead.”

Rabie is a veteran in the cloud space and brings more than 20 years of IT services experience to iland and its customers. He has spent over a decade in the technology services industry, including significant roles in sales leadership and building out international go-to-market strategies for some of the largest names in the global IT and cloud space, including CenturyLink, NetSuite and Oracle.
