FireMon has appointed two new members to its management team, adding Brandy Peterson as Chief Technology Officer and naming John Van Blaricum as Vice President of Marketing. The executive appointments come as FireMon continues to rapidly expand its business and market opportunity, building on its record 2014 performance which featured a 55% increase in total sales and triple digit international expansion.

In joining FireMon, Peterson brings over 18 years of IT security and software engineering experience, including 16 years at FishNet Security, North America’s largest information security solutions provider, where he also served in the role of CTO. Among the many responsibilities Peterson held at FishNet Security was oversight of the company’s software and hardware-based strategy, working directly with customers and leading technology developers to aid in the evolving adoption of numerous security systems. Brandy also helped launch FishNet Security’s commercial security operations center (SOC).

At FireMon, Peterson will be focused primarily on expansion of the company’s growing Solutions Architecture Group, dedicated to helping customers respond to changing business and technology drivers including the continued adaptation and maturation of emerging technology paradigms such as cloud computing and software defined networking (SDN). Brandy will also spearhead advancement and diversification of FireMon’s technology alliance partnerships, working to ensure the company’s products support integration with those of other market-leading solutions providers.

“Today’s organisations are still struggling with the deployment and operation of many critical network security technologies, largely related to issues of process, which creates a vicious cycle driven by complexity and change,” Peterson said. “FireMon is leading the market in addressing many of these challenges and my focus is to ensure that we remain in that position, better engaging with customers via technological innovation and expansion of our strategic alliances.”

John Van Blaricum, Vice President of Marketing, brings over 20 years of enterprise software marketing and demand generation experience to FireMon, including previous work for organisations including FishNet Security, Mediware Information Systems and U.K.-based Innovation Group.

Having most recently served as Vice President of Marketing at FishNet Security, John’s philosophy is built around targeted demand generation and opportunity creation to support new customer acquisition. At FireMon, Van Blaricum will focus primarily on increasing the company’s leading share of a large and dynamic global market by increasing brand awareness, driving solutions demand and cultivating targeted prospects to consistently generate high value business opportunities.

“The extensive knowledge and experience that comes with the addition of Brandy and John to the FireMon executive team further positions the company to build and deliver industry leading security solutions to the growing market we serve,” said Jody Brazil, CEO of FireMon. “Both of these leaders have proven track records in creating and delivering upon a highly differentiated strategic vision, and their combined experience will prove invaluable to FireMon’s growth in the coming years.
