Phoenix secures significant managed IT contract

Phoenix supports Costain to improve IT solutions and business efficiency.

Phoenix has won an extended fully Managed IT contract with existing client Costain Group (“Costain”), one of the UK’s leading engineering and construction companies.

The three-year contract forms part of an already long established relationship with Costain to improve further the quality of the IT support services to its 3,500 IT users across multiple offices and construction sites, while reducing both capital and operational costs.

The contract will deliver a wide range of services, including Infrastructure, Business Continuity and Cloud services and also extends the range of current services including service desk, Deskside and field support on a day-to-day basis along with business continuity (e.g. Cloud backup and recovery). In addition, Phoenix will provide tooling to deliver end users self-service, which automation from Phoenix’s Birstall operations, supported by engineers at Costain’s Maidenhead and Manchester offices.

Phoenix has worked with Costain since 1999; the original six year contract was signed in 2008 to deliver a fully managed Desktop service which included first line and second line support with a dedicated service desk, managed deskside and project site support, a lifecycle and asset management service on all endpoint devices, as well as a hardware break-fix maintenance service. The first managed service contract delivered a 20% reduction in desktop management costs, which was the key business driver in moving forward with Phoenix.

Steve Vaughan, Chief Executive of Phoenix, said: “This is a significant win for Phoenix. Our mission is to become an essential ingredient in our customers’ success by providing scalable, resilient and forward looking IT service. As one of the UK’s leading engineering and construction companies, Costain requires a provider that can help it achieve business growth. As one of the leading providers of Cloud services, Phoenix can help organisations like Costain to develop and enhance IT infrastructure services in a flexible and cost efficient way offered through hosting and Cloud services. This enables Costain IT to focus its time on developing its business strategy and driving the business forward.”
