Apache Storm, a powerful, open source computational engine for real-time Big Data applications on Hadoop, is often integrated with Kafka but can be difficult to use, even for developers. The integration of Syncsort's award-winning DMX-h data integration software with Impetus' StreamAnalytix platform will dramatically simplify the creation of real-time analytics applications, including the cleansing, pre-processing and transformation of data in motion.
"Partnerships make it easier for Big Data practitioners to adopt and integrate the latest Hadoop-based technologies," said Jeff Kelly, principal research contributor, the Wikibon Project. "The integrated solution from Syncsort and Impetus will be a significant contribution to the Apache Hadoop ecosystem, facilitating real-time analytics."
By removing obstacles to building streaming analytics applications on Hadoop, this new joint offering will close the gap between batch and real-time workloads. Customers will be able to move data at scale in real-time across the enterprise to keep business systems in sync and speed-up slow batch processes with streaming ETL. Streaming analytics applications also address key use cases in areas such as the Internet-of-Things (IoT), call center analytics, real-time marketing, e-commerce, security, fraud, insurance claim validation, credit-line-management and log analytics.
"Many of our customers are looking to get Big Data analytics in real-time, which is why we see strong and growing interest in streaming ETL use cases," observed Tendu Yogurtcu, general manager of Syncsort's Big Data business unit. "We are delighted that Impetus has joined our technology partner program and is working with us to integrate their StreamAnalytix platform with our flagship Hadoop-based data integration software, Syncsort DMX-h. Now users will be able to use our simple drag-and-drop interface to create real-time data pipelines."
In addition to the new, integrated technology, joint customers will have access to experienced professional services staff to accelerate their real-time streaming initiatives.
"There is strong demand in large enterprises for a way to create real-time streaming analytics applications without straining IT resources and skill sets," said Anand Venugopal, sr. director of business development for StreamAnalytix at Impetus. "With Syncsort's industry-leading Hadoop technology, our new StreamAnalytix platform and our experienced Big Data analytics services consulting team, we will be able to address this market demand."
