After deciding to implement a strategic and widespread network footprint expansion, Surf Telecoms needed to enlist the help of network partners with national coverage that could also offer a host of different services – from Ethernet to optical and dark fibre network services – to meet its growing requirements. Central to Surf Telecoms’ decision to work with SSE Enterprise Telecoms – apart from its heritage as a trusted network partner and as a like-minded service provider – was its significant network expansion, Project Edge. Project Edge gives Surf Telecoms unprecedented choice and connectivity options to create a national Ethernet service which best fits those of its growing customer base.

“While our telecommunications network incorporates the Midlands, the South West of England and South of Wales that does not mean that our capabilities are limited to our regional network,” said Richard Slane, commercial director at Surf Telecoms. “Indeed, in partnership with SSE Enterprise Telecoms and other network providers, we are able to serve customers right across the UK. Project Edge made SSE Enterprise Telecoms a perfect fit for us; ensuring that we can deliver UK-wide connectivity, while the LIVEQUOTE price comparison engine has enabled us to source quotes to guarantee the most cost-effective prices, as our customer base increases and our business needs evolve. Our long-term relationship with SSE Enterprise Telecoms, in addition to its reputation as a trusted network partner and as a fellow service provider, also gave us the confidence that our ongoing requirements would be met without fail.”

“Reaching customers in all corners of the UK was key for Surf Telecoms and we are delighted to be able to help expand its regional network footprint,” said Colin Sempill, managing director at SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “Project Edge has certainly made SSE Enterprise Telecoms an even better choice for Surf Telecoms, as no matter where in the UK Surf Telecoms’ existing and prospective customers may be, we can guarantee to deliver the most resilient, best value for money Ethernet connectivity solution.”
