Clavister has announced a new security-as-a-service (SECaaS) firewall solution for its channel partners in the Netherlands.
Working in collaboration with its Dutch distributor Black IP, Clavister will offer an extensive range of solutions using the security-as-a-service model, including hard- and software based firewalls to further cater for the needs of its partners.
Clavister CEO Jim Carlsson commented: “In the last 12 months we have seen an increased demand for a delivery model that better equips channel partners to offer managed security services. More and more traditional channel partners are switching their focus to deliver a “as-a-service” oriented model. In piloting, this new go-to-market model has been well received and is a logical addition to our IT solution portfolio.”
Clavister has a long tradition in delivering security-as-a-service solutions to the managed security service provider community including the telecom market, cloud hosting- and Internet service providers.
"Clavister offers a versatile firewall, which lends itself to being an excellent building block for a managed firewall service” commented Niels Pluijmen, consultative sales director at Clavister. “In this age of hacking, security is a great selling point. Our partners understand that a managed firewall service is not only complementary to other IT managed services, but a necessary offering that customers expect their partners to deliver on.”
“Clavister can help channel partners to deliver on this expectation, by offering the right products including a scalable multi-tenant management tool,” continued Pluijmen “Our license structure also offers flexibility and emphasizes the operational expenditure (OPEX) rather than capital expenditure model in order to help partners immediately monetize their firewall service.”
Clavister’s SECaaS offering is based on its award-winning firewall solutions. Channel partners can set-up virtual NGFWs to protect their customers’ virtualized environments simply using Clavister’s web SECaaS configurator to configure the service to the customer’s specific needs. These include setting firewall throughput and choosing features including IPS, IDS, application control, content filtering, antivirus and VPN capability. The configurator then calculates the monthly cost per license, and the service can be deployed to protect the customer’s environment within minutes.
No purchase of physical appliances is needed by either the distributor or customer. Providers can simply deploy and manage hundreds or thousands of individual Clavister Virtual Series Gateways as a SECaaS offering, with a high degree of flexibility and pay-as-you-go pricing.
Clavister’s cOS Core has the smallest software footprint in the market, offering great advantages in capabilities, reliability and performance. Moreover, the fact that Clavister develops all of its own proprietary security modular means its customers have not been exposed to vulnerabilities such as recent Heart bleed, Shell Shock and Ghost.
