Rackspace expands customer choice

Adds Microsoft Private Cloud support.

Rackspace is now able to offer support for Microsoft’s Cloud Platform, which includes Microsoft Hyper-V, System Center, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows Azure Pack to our International customers, currently under limited availability. Additionally, Rackspace is now a member of the Microsoft Cloud OS Network, which aims to deliver a consistent platform across customer data centres, in Microsoft Azure and through providers like Rackspace.

Offering and supporting Microsoft’s cloud platform is a key aspect of the company's managed cloud strategy. The new Microsoft offering which can scale to thousands of virtual machines, gives customers a physically isolated cloud environment that includes hardware based network devices like firewalls, load balancers, dedicated servers and hypervisors. It also offers dedicated storage options like SAN, perfect for customers who require a higher level of security or compliance. This is all backed by our industry leading SLAs that include a 100% Network Uptime SLA and a 1-Hr Hardware Replacement guarantee.

The service delivery model used is structured to be flexible, providing customers choice between running managed virtual machines for production environments, or unmanaged virtual machines for Test/Dev use cases, reducing the overall cost depending on their application and business needs.
