PayPoint tops up technology with Adapt

Leading payment network underpinned by compliant, robust and scalable IT.

PayPoint, an international leader in payment technologies, with 6,000 clients and merchants carrying out 800 million transactions per year, has selected a hosting solution from Adapt to support its growing business.

PayPoint processes payments to the value of £15 billion each year, including those for national utilities, mobile phone operators, the BBC and central and local government through its retail, online and mobile channels. It is therefore vital that the business’s core operations are underpinned by resilient, cutting edge infrastructure.

Due to its rapid expansion, PayPoint was outgrowing its existing data centre facilities so turned to Adapt for a flexible, resilient and compliant managed hosting solution that would support its growth, protect customers and create efficiencies.

With so much data being processed by PayPoint every year, Adapt understood the need for a compliant, high quality data centre solution to protect merchants and customers using PayPoint’s services. Via Adapt, PayPoint’s new environment is ISO27001 compliant, has the ability to rapidly expand as PayPoint continues to grow and meets the company’s requirements for a resilient infrastructure that will deliver maximum uptime.

James Gupwell, Group Head of IT Operations, PayPoint, said: “When we met Adapt, PayPoint’s business was expanding rapidly and has continued to do so. We knew we needed a flexible partner who could deliver both exceptional service and a high-grade data centre solution. As a result of working with Adapt, we’re now free to focus on driving business growth and providing exceptional customer support.”

Scotty Morgan, Sales & Marketing Director, Adapt, said: “It was really important for us to get to grips with how PayPoint operates as a business. We took time to understand the company’s growth strategy and the role that our infrastructure would play in delivering that growth, ensuring we were exactly aligned with their needs. Technology is core to PayPoint’s offering so our highly resilient, fully compliant service will help PayPoint, and by extension its clients, to make sure every one of their transactions happens successfully and seamlessly.”

Gupwell agreed: “We enjoy working with Adapt and have developed a strong relationship with the team – they consistently over-deliver to meet our business requirements and ask the right questions, which gives me the confidence to know we made the right decision.”
