Walking to the beat of their own drum

A review of the 2014 Storage, Virtualization & Cloud Technology Awards.

  • 10 years ago Posted in

The 2014 edition of the SVC (Storage, Virtualization and Cloud) Awards took place in late November in London. The awards recognise the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors alike, operating in the cloud, virtualization and storage sectors. The awards cover the products and solutions themselves as well as the deployment in the real-world and those people who make it happen, and are made, based solely on the votes of the readership of the Angel stable of print and online .

This year’s SVC Awards sponsors included Pulsant, X-IO and Touchdown PR, who contributed significantly to the success of the event, seeing the value in being associated with one of the IT industry’s leading, specialist awards events. Indeed, the pedigree of the SVC Awards is such that the list of previous winners reads like a Who’s Who of the Storage, Virtualization and Cloud industries, and Angel Business Communications is proud to continue to recognise the established players and the newer market entrants in these key IT industry sectors that contribute so much to the technology developments crucial to help enterprise customers not just survive, but thrive in today’s tough economic climate.

Angel Business Communications’ MD, Bill Dunlop, explains: “Angel Business Communications has a rich history of launching magazines and events ‘ahead of the curve’ in the fast-moving IT industry. We focused on the storage networking market in Europe long before anyone else, added a virtualisation focus as this technology was in its infancy and, more recently, we were one of the first media organisations to recognise the unstoppable momentum of the Cloud. I’m delighted that the SVC Awards continue to receive such strong industry support, as an important part of our DCS Europe publication and events portfolio, and I look forward to celebrating with the successful companies at the awards evening.”
Attendees at the gala award evening, which took place at London’s prestigious Montcalm Hotel, were treated to a great evening, courtesy of some high quality food, equally high quality entertainment provided throughout the evening (featuring an interactive drumming session and an ‘after hours’ dance band) and, of course, the awards ceremony itself.
Details of the award winners follows, as well as a plenty of photographic ‘evidence’ of the memorable evening.
