Spanish enterprises have increased their ICT investments in 2014

According to a recent survey from Kable, 32% of Spanish enterprises have increased their ICT budgets by 14% in 2014, signifying a positive trend regarding ICT investments among Spanish enterprises. In a similar vein, the percentage of respondents that have reduced their ICT budgets in 2014 has declined by 9% compared to 2013. Kable’s survey also finds that hardware investments dominate the core technology budget allocations, followed by investments in software and services in both 2013 and 2014.

In order to mitigate security risks, Spanish enterprises are prioritising their investments in various security solutions, which have a current penetration rate of 94%. Meanwhile, investments in enterprise applications, cloud computing and business intelligence (BI) solutions are also expected to gain traction among Spanish enterprises over the next two years, and at least 90% of respondents plan to invest in these domains through to the end of 2015. The technology category of enterprise applications is expected to gain the largest attention among Spanish enterprises in the next two years, as 91% of respondents are considering investing in this area to streamline and automate their legacy processes as well as achieve efficiency in their operations.

“Spanish enterprises are taking a keen interest in various business intelligence solutions, such as analytics, to gain constructive insights from enterprise data and consequently adjust their marketing tactics,” comments Tim Gower, Research Director at Kable. Meanwhile, the survey finds that technology vendors, who can offer innovative solutions at high value to cost ratios, are preferred by Spanish enterprises. Kable therefore believes that vendors with flexible pricing models will have an edge in the Spanish enterprise market.
