Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distributor and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has announced that Avnet Technology Solutions UK has added EMC’s VNXe3200 entry-level hybrid storage array, Data Domain DD2200 deduplication storage system and VNX5100 device to its online configuration tool as part of the Avnet Altitude programme.
Originally launched at the end of 2013, Altitude has seen a 126 percent increase in registered partner companies in the past 10 months with more than 200 users producing quick quotes for customers, 24x7.
According to Lee Bushnell, EMC business manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, UK, “We are here to help partners every step of the way, and these entry-level products from EMC are a great opportunity for them to open conversations with existing and new customers. By using the Altitude online configuration tool, business partners can quote quickly on these products, eradicating the need for complex and time-consuming proposals.”
On joining the Altitude programme, business partners gain access to the online configuration portal, sales collateral and joint funded marketing campaigns. In addition, Avnet runs enablement events and helps fund EMC accreditations, allowing partners to develop within EMC’s partner programme and benefit from additional funding and rebates.
Avnet business partner Softcat Limited has been a part of the Altitude programme since its launch. Dave Simpson, Softcat commercial director, said, “Our pre-sales team uses Avnet’s Altitude configurator tool on a daily basis for VNXe and Data Domain data protection devices. It quickly provides the information needed for small builds, saving the team time to focus on larger projects. Pricing is very competitive, and a much faster turn-around allows us to deliver a far better level of service overall.”
As part of the Altitude programme, and to further support business partners selling EMC storage and data protection devices designed for small and medium-sized businesses, Avnet’s “How High Can You Go with Altitude” incentive will be extended to the end of 2014.
