Ted Baker selects HP to support worldwide business expansion

HP and HP Platinum Partner OCSL will transform enterprise resource planning for global lifestyle brand.

Ted Baker has selected HP Enterprise Services UK and HP Platinum Partner OCSL to help transform its enterprise resource planning (ERP).

HP and OCSL will provide efficient, cost-effective back-office operations to support Ted Baker’s worldwide growth strategy. OCSL will implement a disaster-tolerant HP infrastructure, and HP will deliver proactive managed services for the next seven years, streamlining Ted Baker’s operations and reducing manpower-intensive activities.

Since its beginnings in Glasgow in 1987, Ted Baker has expanded into a global lifestyle brand with annual revenues of more than £320m. Listed on the London Stock Exchange and a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index, Ted Baker has 2,000 employees and stores across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the USA.

“This is a major business transformation program, so we selected strong, long-term partners with experience of major ERP projects,” says Dustan Steer, IT Director, Ted Baker. “HP and OCSL were able to bring together all the necessary hardware, software and SLA-based services, and worked closely with us to understand exactly what was needed to make such a complex project successful. Together with our other partners, they will operate as an extension to Ted Baker`s organization to deliver and manage a global ERP solution with the lowest total cost of ownership and the lowest risk.”

As the ERP hosting provider, HP will manage the infrastructure, operating system and database, providing Ted Baker with the tools and processes to drive change throughout the business. Robust governance processes will ensure a smooth transition and align all service management processes with Ted Baker’s business needs, while HP software will proactively monitor and manage the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution for business continuity.

As the platform provider, OCSL will implement a scalable, disaster-tolerant HP Converged Infrastructure. As well as meeting the high availability and service quality requirements of Ted Baker’s ERP transformation, this will give the company an agile platform from which to build out its business in a sustainable manner.
“This project demonstrates how HP collaborates with partners to add value for the customer,” says Howard Hughes, senior vice president & general manager, HP Enterprise Services EMEA. “Our own ERP expertise will combine with OCSL’s deep understanding of the HP portfolio to drive outcomes that matter for Ted Baker."
