US based company, UltraLinq, provides a cloud-based medical image management solution that allows medical exams to be securely uploaded, reviewed, distributed and archived from anywhere users have an Internet connection, allowing them to focus on improving patient care and efficiency. UltraLinq transitioned to the Hitachi Cloud Services infrastructure at the end of 2013 after a meticulous search for a robust enterprise-class infrastructure. The Hitachi solution stood out as the obvious choice to help UltraLinq continue to deliver the highest possible quality of service to its existing customers and provide a scalable platform to support their rapid commercial growth.
UltraLinq relocated their primary data centre from London to a Redcentric data centre in Reading. The data centre has secure N3 network connectivity, a key factor in enabling UltraLinq to tender for NHS contracts. Hitachi Data Systems provided a new solution to support UltraLinq’s critical business applications with the Hitachi Unified Storage platform and Hitachi Compute Blade systems, responding via Hitachi Systems in Japan.
“The new Hitachi solution has enabled our business in the UK to provide high performance and scalability. By combining the benefits and flexibility of the UltraLinq platform with the security and expertise of the Hitachi infrastructure, we have positioned ourselves to expand within the UK market with a secure, clinically relevant solution that is cost-effective and simple to implement. The Hitachi solution is delivered as a service to minimize our initial overhead costs and we’re delighted with its simplicity,” said Stephen Farber, CEO of UltraLinq.
“The healthcare market necessitates a highly secure, flexible environment which we were able to deliver with group sister company Hitachi Systems, and we look forward to continuing to support UltraLinq in their UK business growth,” said Richard Gadd, managing director, Hitachi Data Systems, UK and Ireland.
