Lancope, Inc. announces the appointment of technology industry veteran Ben Todd as sales director for Europe. Throughout his 18 year technology sales career, Todd has worked with companies including Cisco, EMC and Touchbase, providing IT and security solutions to major UK and global players in the financial services, hospitality, professional services, legal and media industries. In his new role, he is responsible for growing, managing and developing Lancope’s European sales team, as well as aligning the team’s goals and objectives with other Lancope groups and strategic partners across the globe.

“As countries around the world become more aware of the devastating effects of data breaches, Lancope’s international presence will continue to grow rapidly,” said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. “We expect to experience significant expansion across Europe in 2015, and we look forward to the additional opportunities and sharpened focus that Ben will undoubtedly bring to our sales strategy.”

Prior to joining Lancope, Todd served as an account director at EMC, responsible for managing two very large financial services accounts in the UK across EMC’s security, big data, cloud, storage and data protection product lines. Previously, he spent over seven years at Cisco managing a number of high-profile accounts spanning Cisco’s entire portfolio including security, networking, collaboration and data center technologies, among others.

While at Cisco, Todd achieved an unprecedented 271 percent of his sales goal in 2012, and played a key role in building the Cisco Borderless Networks business. Before joining Cisco, he spent eight years with communications provider Touchbase in Europe, where as an equity partner in the business he held both sales director and partnerships/alliances roles.

“Today, no business, government, country or consumer is immune to the effects of sophisticated cyber attackers,” said Todd. “With rising complexities including next-generation infrastructure, increasing attacker innovation, nation-state attacks and evolving EU privacy laws, organisations need new answers to the growing cybersecurity problem. I look forward to leveraging the unique capabilities of Lancope’s StealthWatch® System to help European organisations better defend against advanced threats, as well as comply with more stringent privacy regulations without sacrificing security.”
