Nutanix launches Web-scale Wish Data Centre makeover campaign

Nutanix, the web-scale converged infrastructure company, is bringing the benefits of Web-scale IT to non-profit organisations with the launch of Web-scale Wish – a project that will donate $500,000 in data centre infrastructure to non-profit organisations. Often associated only with major corporations, Web-scale technology’s unprecedented levels of agility and operational efficiency in the data centre benefit businesses of all sizes and in any industry by allowing them to scale their infrastructures on-demand.

As part of the campaign, a non-profit organization chosen by the IT community will receive a 48-hour web-scale data centre makeover package, which will be fully implemented by Nutanix. The prize includes three NX-3050 nodes, three Ultimate Software Licenses, three years of Nutanix Platinum Plus support and a two-day on-site installation service.

Anyone can nominate organisations that they feel would benefit from a data cente makeover by 21st November.

To be entered into Web-scale Wish, organisations must:
· Be a non-profit, non-partisan organisation based in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or the United Kingdom
· Have a currently working data centre that could benefit from web-scale converged infrastructure
· Be able to complete and meet Environment Assessment criteria

The nomination period will be open online until Friday, November 21st. The final three organisations will then be featured in a virtual event on Wednesday, December 10th where the public will have the opportunity to vote to determine the Grand Prize recipient.

“Web-scale IT can benefit all organisations, not just major corporations, and this project demonstrates Nutanix’s commitment to ensuring that the companies that give back to our community can realise its value,” said Howard Ting, SVP marketing and product management, Nutanix. “Non-profit organisations can benefit tremendously from more flexible infrastructures, but are often limited by resources when it comes to their implementation. We can’t wait to bring Web-scale IT to the causes and organisations our community is most passionate about.”
