Zadara is introducing its ground-breaking Multi-Zone HA, a new option for automatic, real-time failover across geographically distributed locations. With Multi-Zone HA, customers enjoy both File (NAS) and Block (SAN) storage that automatically and synchronously replicates data across a metropolitan area network and fails over automatically and transparently in the event of facility-level failure. Both On-Premise as a Service (OPaaS) and Cloud VPSA customers now have the option to geographically distribute their data for a true high-availability storage solution with zero RPO (recovery point objective) and zero RTO (recovery time objective). For example, at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Multi-Zone HA enables users to have a fully disaster tolerant system by distributing application servers across different AWS Availability Zones and the storage across different buildings within the same region. In addition, Zadara customers can asynchronously replicate to any of Zadara's 36 public storage clouds around the world including AWS (5 regions), Microsoft Azure (3 regions), Dimension Data (3 regions) and any other service provider that is Powered by Zadara Storage™.
Zadara Storage is also adding support for Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), which enables users to create online, point-in-time backups of Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint and other Microsoft enterprise applications. These new features ensure that mission critical applications continue to operate in the face of the most severe failures.
“A core value of Zadara's Enterprise Storage as a Service is business continuity” said Craig Carl, vice president of product management at Zadara Storage. “With the new Multi-Zone HA and Volume Shadow Copy Service capabilities we continue to innovate to ensure that our customers' business critical workloads have the benefit of Zadara's 100% data availability SLA both on-premises and in the cloud."
“Zadara Storage pioneered enterprise-class storage as a service offering IT organizations granular control and quality of service (QoS) unheard of with large cloud service providers,” said Frank Berry, CEO of IT Brand Pulse. “Zadara is now redefining the leading edge with a multi-zone architecture for geographically dispersed, high availability enterprise-class storage as a service. This capability was previously available only to those larger companies who could afford to own and operate multiple data centres.”
