Supermicro UK appoints Head of Cloud Based Solutions for Gaming and Entertainment

Steve Tyson joins Supermicro UK as Head of Cloud Solutions for Gaming and Entertainment as the company looks to market and expand its signature Cloud Gaming Platform solution to take advantage of the explosive growth in cloud gaming.

Described as an entertainment industry ‘veteran’ by his peers, Steve has been the figurehead for several key entertainment technology companies. He has operated at senior global and EMEA level specialising go-to market & business development strategies.

Prior to joining Supermicro UK, Steve was VP of Global Sales at Phonetic Arts acquired by Google and Crisp Thinking, and had earlier held similar posts with Emergent, Freescale/Motorola, Avid/NXN & Aura to drive new technologies in the gaming and entertainment market.

Passionate about opportunities with disruptive technologies, Steve will focus in his new role on delivering the Cloud Gaming Platform to the gaming and entertainment market. The solution will enable service providers to tap into the rapidly growing gaming ecosystem – which is firmly becoming a core part of entertainment experience today.

“Steve brings a wealth of commercial, sales and business development experience to Supermicro UK. His industry expertise, commercial networks and understanding of the gaming market, will be especially valuable. He will play a vital role in helping us engage the global gaming ecosystem primarily in the context of our end-to-end gaming solution.” said Dev Tyagi, General Manager of Supermicro UK.

Earlier this year at Gamescom in Cologne, Supermicro UK launched its Cloud Gaming Platform products, the market’s first end-to-end solution for cloud gaming infrastructure. Designed to enable telcos, datacentres, game developers, game publishers and service providers to enter the cloud gaming market, Supermicro CGP is enabled with NVIDIA grid gaming GPU cards, to deliver high quality, low latency, multi-device gaming on any PC, Mac, Tablet, Smartphone or TV.

“Supermicro’s unrivalled heritage in engineering and cutting edge product innovation, as well as the sheer speed in product deployment makes it a serious player in today’s fast evolving gaming market. I’m excited to be part of the team and relish the opportunity to be at the forefront of market disrupting cloud gaming solutions”, said Steve Tyson, head of Cloud Gaming and Entertainment, Supermicro UK.
