NaviSite Europe joins the Cloud Industry Forum

Industry-leading provider of cloud services becomes the latest CSP to join the industry body.

Leading cloud hosting provider NaviSite has shown its commitment to a transparent and sustainable Cloud industry by joining the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), the membership body whose aim is to raise standards and improve transparency in the Cloud sector.

Established in 1996 in Andover, Massachusetts, NaviSite is a leading provider of enterprise-class, Cloud-enabled hosting, managed applications and services. NaviSite provides a full suite of reliable and scalable managed services, including Application Services, industry-leading Enterprise Hosting, and Managed Cloud Services for enterprises looking to outsource IT infrastructure and lower their capital and operational costs.

Sean McAvan, Managing Director, NaviSite Europe, said: “In just a few short years, cloud computing has moved from the edge of the IT estate to its centre, and for many organisations, it’s now the starting point for new projects rather than a desired end-state,’

“Although the industry has matured, there is much that could still be done to improve end-user understanding of Cloud services and raise standards of transparency and capability amongst Cloud providers. Since it was founded, the Cloud Industry Forum has played an important role in driving this agenda forward, with its comprehensive research program and Code of Practice for CSPs. We are therefore delighted to have joined CIF and look forward to taking an active role in the Forum,” he continued.

CIF, the industry body that aims to improve standards and education in the Cloud industry, was formed in 2009 to improve CSP transparency through certification to a Code of Practice, and to assist end users in determining the necessary information to enable them to adopt Cloud services.

Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, added: “Our mandate is to educate the market and drive best practice in the industry as a not-for-profit independent body. Having the support of industry members of the scale and influence of NaviSite helps bring depth in expertise to this arena, and enriches our Special Interest Groups. It is heartening to work with organisations who demonstrate commitment to best practice and have a customer-centric approach, which makes NaviSite a very welcome addition to our membership roster.”
