Barracuda promotes Kristof Vanderstraeten as new sales director of cloud security in EMEA

Barracuda Networks, Inc. has announced that Kristof Vanderstraeten has been named the new sales director of cloud security in EMEA. This new role is focused on development and further growth in Barracuda’s public cloud business. In his new role, Vanderstraeten will work closely with high volume cloud service providers to implement the Barracuda security offering into their public cloud offerings.

Formerly, Vanderstraeten was the Barracuda sales director for the Benelux, France and North Africa for six years. During that time, he helped grow Barracuda’s business and team in these regions and will continue to contribute to the company’s growth in his new role.

As the EMEA sales director of cloud security, Vanderstraeten’s task is to engage with the European teams of public cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). He will also lead training programmes that will support the technical and sales teams from channel partners responsible for selling and integrating the security offering into their own public cloud infrastructures.

“Cloud is currently a hot topic and many businesses have moved part of their infrastructure to the cloud. We expect that the migration to cloud platforms will be a key development for businesses in the next three to five years. By engaging with the public cloud providers, we will help companies to make that move to the cloud, while enabling them to keep the security levels that they were used to,” explained Vanderstraeten.

The Barracuda NG Firewall solution is currently the only firewall that is available in the Microsoft Azure cloud. This relationship enables businesses to host applications and manage workloads whilst securing the corporate data that resides on this cloud platform.

The Barracuda Load Balancer ADC, Barracuda Spam Firewall, Barracuda Web Application Firewall and Barracuda NG Firewall are available in the Amazon Web Service Marketplace. The integration of Barracuda’s offering for AWS provide secure access to cloud hosted applications, email and other business data.
