Fujitsu announces support of Software-defined and Cloud Storage based on OpenStack and Ceph

Fujitsu has initiated a number of proofs-of-concept with service providers and public sector institutions to deliver complete, highly-scalable, fault-tolerant storage solutions based on OpenStack and Ceph technology. The resulting solution, with unprecedented massive scale-out capabilities, will be generally available during the second half of 2014.

Fujitsu also announces with immediate effect OpenStack support of FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS DX systems. OpenStack is an open source cloud operating platform that controls large pools of compute, storage, and networking resources in the datacentre environment. With ETERNUS OpenStack Volume Driver, customers can now provision resources hosted on ETERNUS DX systems in their environments and manage them centrally.

With both initiatives, Fujitsu is supporting its customers to use storage more efficiently in cloud-like environments and to embrace new technological paradigms faster for better business support.
