Schneider Electric StruxureWare for Data Centers wins DCIM category at DCS Awards

Schneider Electric has received the DCS 2014 Award ‘Datacentre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Product of the Year’ for its StruxureWare™ for Data Centers software solution. The award was presented at the prestigious Data Centres Solution Annual Gala Industry Event held at the Millennium Hotel, London.

Run by Angel Business Publishing, publishers of Data Centre Solutions magazine, the DCS awards have become a leading event in the industry calendar. Receiving the award, Schneider Electric IT UK vice president, Dale Wrangles said, “Schneider Electric is delighted to have won this accolade for its StruxureWare for Data Centers DCIM solution. I’d like to thank the editorial judging panel for shortlisting us in the DCIM category as well as the many people that have voted to make this award to StruxureWare for Data Centers.

“The market for DCIM is developing rapidly and already many companies are starting to benefit from the actionable intelligence which StruxureWare for Data Centers software provides, to enable an ideal balance of high availability and peak efficiency throughout the entire data centre life cycle,” Dale Wrangles added.

Developed by Schneider Electric, StruxureWare for Data Centers is an integrated DCIM suite which is comprised of comprehensive modules for data centre operations, control and management. Schneider Electric DCIM software applications enable businesses to prosper by managing their data centres across multiple domains.

At the core of the software suite is StruxureWare Data Center Operation, the physical infrastructure management application. Unlike other DCIM platforms, it provides an integrated dashboard that facilitates vendor neutral inventory management. What’s more, this dashboard displays real-time device failures and data within the data centre physical infrastructure layout, as well as recommendations on how to resolve issues.

The ability to make such informed decisions from a “building-to-server” perspective can be multi-layered with the addition of optional modules created to meet specific user requirements, from Capacity and Change Management to Energy Cost, Energy Efficiency and IT Power Optimisation.

The suite enables comprehensive dashboards of live data centre operations, mobile operation for real-time tracking of equipment adds, moves and changes and on-the-go access via smartphones and tablet apps.

StruxureWare Data Center Expert provides vendor-neutral, scalable monitoring software which collects, organizes, and distributes critical alerts, surveillance video and key information, providing a unified view of complex physical infrastructure environments from anywhere on the network.

At a control level, StruxureWare Data Center Expert provides an efficient way for organizations to monitor company-wide multi-vendor physical infrastructure: power, cooling, security, and environment. Real-time monitoring, user-defined reports and graphs, and instant fault notification and escalation enable quick assessment and resolution of critical infrastructure events that can adversely affect IT system availability.

StruxureWare Power Monitoring Expert provides comprehensive electrical system intelligence for the data centre. With deep insight into the operation of electrical infrastructure, it ensures your infrastructure can operate at the design level of reliability while still minimizing energy costs and making the most of current assets.
StruxureWare applications allows additional applications to be added incrementally, while its 'plug and play' design ensures the applications will connect seamlessly. StruxureWare Cooling Monitoring Expert is based on Schneider Electric industry-leading Building Automation systems, but tailored to the specific application of cooling system automation for facility HVAC experts and mechanical engineering teams.
