Designed to recognise the most outstanding developments in the data centre industry across Europe, the British manufacturer last night (15 May 2014) picked up the ‘Datacentre Energy Efficiency Product of the Year’ trophy at the annual ceremony held in Mayfair, London.
In April, Airedale also walked away with the 2014 H&V News award for ‘Commercial Building Services Product of the Year’ for the SmartCool™ CW.
Developed to meet demand for a high performance, ultra energy-efficient, dedicated chilled water PAC system, the SmartCool™ CW delivers up to 30% more cooling kW/m2 when compared with competitor units, keeping footprint to a minimum to free up premium IT space. Core to the design brief was to make the most efficient use of internal space by removing redundant mechanical cooling (DX) components which were not needed in dedicated CW units. Also key was to offer a choice of models to suit both small computer room and large data centre applications.
New Product Development Director for Airedale, George Hannah, said: “It is a terrific achievement to win another award. This is a direct consequence of high calibre engineers working with the latest developments in virtual engineering and CAD technologies.
“Customers put a great deal of trust in our ability to deliver systems which consistently achieve the highest energy efficiency savings and innovations designed to help them meet their varied challenges. Winning this award provides added peace of mind for them as well as helping motivate us all within the business to keep up the momentum.
“This particular award is decided by public vote and we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to make sure we were named ‘number one’.”
