Power Appliance for SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise

Fujitsu has unveiled FUJITSU Server Power Appliance for SAP® Adaptive Server® Enterprise (SAP ASE). This pre-configured, pre-tested server and storage appliance can significantly help reduce the complexity, risk, time-to-functionality and total cost of ownership (TCO) for enterprises looking for substantially faster transaction processing performance. Developed in cooperation with SAP, LSI and Violin Memory for Flash memory and Red Hat for Linux, Fujitsu’s new offering was shown at the ISUG-TECH Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia (U.S.A.), April 14-17.

The FUJITSU Power Appliance for SAP ASE can significantly reduce TCO and provide business continuity, as it is factory configured and installed to help eliminate a high degree of overhead related to system administration. Supporting new, high-performance applications and increasing server utilisation, the system’s extreme transaction processing capability is aided by the latest processor and storage systems that can handle multiple workloads.

For businesses looking to quickly update the latest hardware and database software, the FUJITSU Power Appliance for SAP ASE is a pre-packaged solution. In addition, the deployment of the FUJITSU Power Appliance for SAP ASE can significantly reduce installation time. It is pre-optimised for different workloads – high-performance, consolidation, and system upgrades – and available in three configurations to suit varying market requirements. High-availability and disaster-recovery functionalities will also be pre-loaded on the appliance, ready to be enabled with an optional second appliance to maximise availability for mission-critical data and workloads.
