The METRO2C Alliance, a collaboration of leading connectivity providers, data centre operators and Internet Exchanges founded by Sea Fibre Networks, has revealed the LDeX Group as its latest member. LDeX’s fully owned 22,000sq ft London based facility provides customers with highly efficient and secure carrier neutral colocation data centre services supported by best-in-class IP connectivity solutions and connectivity to an extensive on-site satellite farm.

Catering for the exponential growth of the global media sector, LDeX is quickly becoming the digital hub of choice for clients seeking a data centre that can serve an industry with niche requirements for satellite and global network reach for VoD, OTT, Streaming Media, CDN and Broadcast solutions, as well as the ability to support high power density rack configurations. LDeX can meet these requirements through its vast array of satellite downlink capabilities including Astra, Nilesat, Hotbird and Thor as well as it’s rapidly expanding list of on-net carriers with global footprints.

The LDeX data centre facility (LDeX 1) has a carrier neutral eco-system which boasts a range of Tier 1 and Tier 2 network providers and direct access to a number of leading Internet Exchange points, cloud hubs (including AWS Direct Connect), IP transit and bandwidth providers, content delivery networks and metro and long reach Ethernet circuit providers. The METRO2C Alliance aligns best in class data centre operators, like the LDeX Group, and connectivity providers to provide mission critical solutions needed to cope with the growth of the digital economy.

Diane Hodnett, CEO of the Alliances’ founding member, Sea Fibre Networks, said: “As well as providing mission critical data centre and network services to clients, LDeX provides a paramount service to the media industry offering immediate access to satellite downlinks, high content networks, vast storage capacity and maximum levels of security to protect against downtime which is imperative for the media streaming, storage, broadcasting and content delivery sectors.”
Rob Garbutt, CEO of LDeX Group commented ‘We are delighted to join the Metro2C Alliance as a partner and fully endorse the Alliance’s commitment to bringing together best-in class service providers to facilitate a reliable IP infrastructure network that end-users will feel confident in procuring solutions from this robust ecosystem.’’
