Racking up Prograde enquiries

Server Technology's one unit, multiple rack configuration PDU proves a hit with resellers.

Just a few months after adding Server Technology’s ProGrade 42 Rack PDU to its product portfolio, Datacentre Distribution has received multiple enquiries from IT resellers sourcing the PDU for their clients.

One of the division’s latest deals is with a London-based reseller who operates exclusively in the global financial sector. The £30,000 deal for 72 of these specific PDUs is just one of a handful of projects the team is currently working on.

Explains Andy Kelly, Sales Director for Datacentre Distribution: “The ProGrade 42 is a very interesting product for us when it comes to targeting vertical markets and it’s been in high demand since we added it to our offering.

“When Server Technology launched the ProGrade 42 they focused on high value, low cost, without compromising on the quality and considered the target market to be SMEs with 100 racks or less.

“Instead, they experienced cloud services buying the product in its hundreds and colocation companies making the ProGrade 42 part of their standard design and build. Technology companies are also picking the ProGrade 42 as, with its 60 degree Celsius rating, it enables datacentres with demanding computing power requirements to have a PDU that will support high temperatures in the rack. Equally, as these environments can have multiple engineers entering the cabinet, they are impressed with the fact that the ProGrade 42 comes with high retention outlets and locking receptacles, that limit the risk of power cables accidentally being knocked out.”

Continues Andy: “Resellers tell us that the feedback from their clients is excellent and the benefits for the end user are very clear. They want the ProGrade 42 because it offers so many rack configuration options from just one unit, and increases the potential density of rack devices by 30%.

“So, if any SMEs or huge multinationals are looking to make significant cost reductions without cutting corners on quality or service availability, we can highly recommend investing in a ProGrade infrastructure.”
