NTT Communications unveils its new European-based UCaaS service at Cloud Expo Europe

Global seamless, cloud-based unified communications service for enterprises launched in Europe.

NTT Communications Corporation will be exhibiting its new European and US platforms for Arcstar Unified Communications as a service (UCaaS), its globally seamless, cloud-based service for enterprises, at Cloud Expo Europe 2014.

The newly launched product will be demonstrated at stand 300 at the event which takes place on 26th and 27th February at ExCeL London. The addition of European and US platforms means Arcstar UCaaS now operates in three regions, to deliver a robust cloud-based infrastructure assuring; low-latency, improved operational efficiency and enabling customers to better unify their global communication infrastructure, rather than operate independent systems in each region, for more efficient management of corporate resources.

Arcstar UCaaS integrates VoIP phones, web and audio conferencing, instant messaging, presence and other collaboration tools in the cloud, providing optimal methods of communication for use anytime, anywhere in accordance with the needs and conditions of collaborators. The service strengthens intra-company communications with improved operational efficiency, more flexible work-styles and reduced cost of ownership for fixed assets.

Key benefits of the Arcstar UCaaS include:
1) Significantly reduced communication delays for global businesses
The new infrastructure in Europe and the U.S. assures low-latency transmission. Routing communications from Europe or the U.S. through equipment in Japan can experience delays of several seconds depending on the line. With communications equipment now based in these two additional regions, latency has been drastically reduced for the increased convenience of local Arcstar UCaaS customers.
2) Compliance with regulations protecting personal information
An increasing focus on the protection of personal information has led to strengthened regulations under the EU Data Protection Directive, including restrictions on retaining personal information in communications facilities located in other regions. Arcstar UCaaS allows personal information to be stored locally to satisfy these requirements.
3) Global-scale business continuity planning and disaster recovery
Customers can utilise Arcstar UCaaS to construct comprehensive global communications infrastructure in the Europe or U.S. for strong business continuity planning and disaster-recovery readiness.
4) Reduced complexity
In order to reduce operational and administrative complexities normally associated with changes to your unified communications estate, our Arcstar UCaaS service provides customers with an intuitive administrative and end user selfcare portal. This provides a simplified interface for administrators and end users giving them the flexibility to perform changes to their estate.

NTT Communications Yukio Ito, Senior Vice President of Service Infrastructure and member of the Board of Open Networking Foundation has been invited to deliver a key note speech on Wednesday 26th February. Yukio Ito will be speaking about the ‘Next steps in SDN and OpenFlow network innovation’. Len Padilla, Vice President of Product Strategy at NTT Europe will also be delivering a speech at the Expo where he will be discussing the question ‘Are you ready for software defined everything?’

Clive Hamilton, VP Network Services for NTT Europe comments: “Harnessed globally, Unified Communications can deliver compelling productivity gains, but it has traditionally required substantial up-front investments. With Arcstar UCaaS we are offering a truly global Unified Communications platform, delivered as a service over our unrivalled network infrastructure. This allows us to deliver all of the end-user benefits of Unified Communications, along with the data sovereignty, continuity and technical performance that today’s enterprise demands.

“We’re delighted to announce the availability of UCaaS in Europe and North America at Cloud Expo, and look forward to many stimulating discussions at the event,” he continues.

Arcstar UCaaS combines the expertise and experience of NTT Communications and group companies including Arkadin in fields such as applications, cloud infrastructure and networks.
