X-Gene™ samples began shipping to customers and development partners in March 2013, and AppliedMicro have put systems in the hands of their software and hardware partners and large data centre customers. The X-Gene™ Development Kit announced in October will accelerate ecosystem maturation and make it easy for development partners to get up and running quickly in their environment. The X-Gene™ chip will be packaged along with networking, I/O and storage interfaces on the developer board. In addition to the ARMv8 64 bit processor ACAL will also be demonstrating the latest Flash storage and networking PCI cards from Virident. Acal introduce a range of Active Optical Cables offering greater efficiencies in power consumption and lower cost of deployment.
