Datum welcomes financial services solutions provider NetPay Group as latest client

Business critical data centre operator, Datum Datacentres, welcomes on board NetPay Solutions Group as their latest client. As a provider of online and in-store card processing and merchant services, where physical and operational security are of paramount importance for both regulatory compliance and customer confidence, NetPay agreed a multi-year contract with Datum for the provision of highly efficient and flexible colocation services, strategically located on the highly secure QinetiQ Cody Technology Park in Farnborough.

Officially opened in January 2013, Datum’s flagship data centre is an environmentally intelligent facility, built in accordance with the latest Green IT efficiencies; delivering highly energy efficient and flexible colocation, with a market-leading operational Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).
NetPay needed a data centre partner that not only provides a resilient service and delivers against a robust SLA but also works closely with its clients and puts a tangible emphasis and focus on the client relationship. Simply put, NetPay needed a service partner as opposed to the more traditional and readily available landlord-tenant relationship.

Carl Churchill, Managing Director, NetPay Solutions Group comments, “We required a primary and secondary site solution, with Datum initially positioned as a contender for the secondary site. However, following the initial visit to see the full extent of the offering, it became clear that the Datum site was right to host the solution for the primary point of presence as opposed to being effectively the back-up to an alternative location. The site that was initially positioned to be the primary now serves as a back-up to our primary Datum housed facility.”

“We also required managed connectivity. Datum provided us with both colocation and resilient managed connectivity under a single contract, which reduces complexity for us and enabled us to get the site live quicker.”

Carl Churchill continues, “As a payment service provider, offering a range of online processing, payment terminal and merchant services, it is important for us to work with a company that not only fully understands our business process, but who also shares our ‘service beyond transaction’ ethos; and Datum provides the perfect fit.”

Carl Churchill adds “We are delighted to be working with the team at Datum, they are providing excellent, proactive, service delivery management, coupled with the benefits of the highly secure location and competitive commercial terms; and we look forward to building a long term relationship.”
Matt McCluney, Account Director, Datum Datacentres adds, “We are delighted to welcome NetPay as our latest client and are committed to exceeding expectations and upholding the standards required. Competing in against major colocation providers and being selected above them demonstrates our commitment to customer service, the quality of our facilities and the flexibility of our offerings.”

“We are looking forward to working together with NetPay and I am confident that we will not only meet our objectives, but also enjoy mutual success whilst building enduring relationships”, Matt McCluney concludes.
