This innovative telehealth technology enables medical staff to communicate with patients, and vice versa, via high definition video links, resulting in the provision of accessible care regardless of patient or doctor location.

The VaaS offering is currently being utilised by the renal department at Lancashire Teaching Hospital, enabling doctors and nurses to remotely assess their patients’ progress, providing invaluable support and ensuring that the dialysis procedure is being followed correctly at home.
Scott Rayner, IT manager at Lancashire Teaching Hospital commented: “The video solution gives patients more independence, whilst providing piece of mind that support is on hand should they require it.

“It certainly holds great potential and, depending on the outcome of the proof of concept, we would look to roll it out further both within the hospital and throughout the country.”

Ian Jackson, managing director of Imerja said: “The VaaS solution provides a novel way of improving accessibility to specialist support and niche expertise, offering enormous benefits for patients and medical staff alike.

“This telehealth technology has the potential to transform the healthcare sector and provides an alternative way for an overburdened health service to maintain excellent standards.”
