Socomec’s Critical Power UK division delivers a series of Masterys BC UPS units to the new Stonehenge visitor building – the first phase of improvements to the setting and visitor experience of Stonehenge which is due to open in June 2014.
As a World Heritage Site, Stonehenge is the most famous prehistoric monument in the world and holds a pivotal place in the development of archaeology. The original visitor centre was constructed in 1968 as a temporary structure. For the first time, Stonehenge will now have a proper place to tell its fascinating story, including a spectacular exhibition set within a modern but sympathetic setting that has been designed with the environment in mind.

Dual input functionality enables the management of independent power sources. Furthermore, the system’s availability can be increased by placing two UPS in parallel (1+1 redundancy). An internal manual bypass allows for easy maintenance – without power interruption.
