Transit Networks selects Volta’s Great Sutton Street data

Volta Data Centres says that Transit Networks, a leading provider of IT managed services, cloud services and backup technologies, has selected Volta's Great Sutton Street Data Centre for the strategic placement of its third Cloud Delivery Centre.

Transit Networks’ service offerings include Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery (including Replication-as-a-Service), as well as reselling traditional virtualisation related consultancy services, infrastructure and software.
Transit Networks chose Volta’s facility primarily because it is a brand new facility with sufficient capacity to support Transit’s future growth requirements in the years to come. With plans to transition from an existing location, Volta will become our primary London data centre facility.

In addition, due to the nature of the workloads that Transit Networks manages, connectivity options with leading Tier 1 providers were of critical importance when considering migrating workloads between existing data centres. Volta Data Centre’s Tier 1 connectivity providers, who all bring their own diverse fibre links into the building, offer Transit Networks the necessary resilience for connectivity.

Volta’s Great Sutton Street Data Centre is one of Central London’s most connected and resilient facilities. Catering to the requirements of latency-sensitive users in the telecoms, financial services, media and technology industries, Volta Great Sutton Street is ideally located in close proximity to the financial services community in the City, the entrepreneurial community of TechCity and the West End media community.

Commenting on Transit Networks’ decision to offer their services at Volta, Julian King, Commercial Director, said: “We are delighted that Transit Networks has chosen our Great Sutton Street facility to ensure their network infrastructure continues to deliver market-leading performance. The data centre has completed a multi-million pound refurbishment, offering all the unique advantages of a great location, the highly resilient and diverse power supply and connectivity in the building, with an ever expanding number of carriers on site.

Tom Reed, Director, Transit Networks said: “We are very pleased how our venture at Volta Great Sutton Street is progressing. We have successfully expanded our Cloud infrastructure into Volta and have a number of clients hosted on the live environment. The infrastructure decisions that our teams have undertaken now, will allow Transit Networks to grow exponentially in a scalable and secure environment. Volta’s target client base also sits quite nicely with ours so we will be able to work collaboratively on any future opportunities.”
