Arxan Technologies, leading provider of software security solutions that protect the App Economy, has announced the appointment of Norbert Pongratz as Regional Sales Director for Central Europe. Based in Munich, Germany, Norbert will be responsible for driving Arxan’s growth in the DACH region and across Eastern Europe as the company expands its international presence to meet the growing demand for advanced software security technology to protect applications that are driving mobile, embedded and the internet of things environments.

With 23 years of experience in developing sales operations in Central Europe, Norbert joins Arxan from Kaseya, a provider of IT Systems Management platform solutions. At Kaseya he was responsible for establishing and scaling the company’s Germany-based business through both direct sales and channel sales resources. Before Kaseya, he managed central European sales operations for a variety of leading enterprise software companies including, Nimsoft/CA, NIKU/ CA, Platinum Technology/C A, Candle, Intersolv and IBM.

With ABI Research predicting that the mobile application market is set to reach the value of $27 billion by the end of 2013, Norbert will be developing Arxan’s sales operations within Central Europe. Working with customers across sectors such as the Automotive, Banking and Insurance, Enterprise, Digital Media, Healthcare, Energy, and High Tech ISV markets, Norbert will drive growth and promote the distribution for application protection technology, in addition to traditional measures, in order to provide a layered approach to protecting the app economy.

Norbert Pongratz said: “It is an exciting time not only in the Central European market but globally as consumers and businesses are now entering the next stage of the diverse computing platforms – they want to find the most effective and efficient way to protect the integrity of the apps that are fueling this growth. As Germany is the home of the automotive industry, we are currently seeing a huge surge in interest in the mobile, embedded and connected vehicle application market.”

He continued: “With recent market forecasts from Strategy Analytics suggesting that by 2017 there will be 140 million connected cars on the road globally, now is the perfect time to work hand-in-hand with manufacturers and developers to ensure the security and safety of in-vehicle applications and the associated in-vehicle environments. That is why I’m excited to be joining Arxan as we take the mobile application security market to the next level and work to turn those untrusted environments to ones in which customers and businesses can manage risk to conduct secure transactions and operations.”

Arxan Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Channels, Tom van Gorder comments: “We are delighted to welcome Norbert to the Arxan team and know that his unrivaled experience and knowledge in the Central European market will help our business grow and meet the needs to customers in the region. As the market for applications continues to grow, hackers are becoming increasingly savvy and are launching sophisticated attacks on apps across multiple platforms in order to crack them and expose them to reverse engineering, tampering or the insertion of malware. No organisation, whether it be in the financial, automotive or enterprise market, wants to be exposed to the potential reputational and financial loss that can occur should an app be compromised and we are the partner to help ease the burden of protecting the integrity of the app.”
