Interxion joins The Shoreditch Network

Interxion is announced as the newest member of the Tech City collaboration dedicated to supporting East London’s start-up community.

INTERXION HOLDING NV has become a member of The Shoreditch Network, a collaboration providing expert support to the Tech City community.
The Shoreditch Network, founded in September 2012, was set up to offer advice, high speed fibre infrastructure and secure IT cloud services to the growing number of up-and-coming businesses in Shoreditch, East London. This part of London is home to Europe’s fastest-growing technology cluster; in 2008 there were just 15 media and technology companies registered in Shoreditch and, according to the Tech City Map, by the end of July 2013 there were over 1,380.

Initially comprising of three Tech City-based firms – bandwidth infrastructure provider euNetworks, leading cloud hosting provider Carrenza, and network specialists Optimity – The Shoreditch Network welcomes Interxion as its fourth member. Interxion will be offering colocation services and dedicated space for server infrastructure; the company has developed an area at its London data centre, located at the heart of the digital economy in Brick Lane, solely for the start-up community. Here they can take small amounts of rack space and expand into larger footprints as their business develops.

Commenting on the partnership, Doug Loewe, UK Managing Director, Interxion, said, “We have been in Shoreditch for over 12 years and have seen the area develop into one of the world’s most vibrant and creative neighborhoods. During this time we have focused on supporting local businesses and this announcement further demonstrates our continued commitment to the Tech City community. This dedicated start-up space will give those businesses the flexibility to grow with us as their businesses’ grow.”

Christopher Chave-Cox of The Shoreditch Network, commented, “Interxion is a fantastic addition to the Network, enabling us to provide the Tech City community with a truly end-to-end solution, when it comes to their IT infrastructure. The fact that they have been within the community for over 12 years shows their commitment to the area and their heritage in supporting local business growth.”
