BridgeHead Software has announced its partnership with Imaging Solutions, the leading single-source supplier of healthcare imaging products and consumables in Australia and New Zealand.
With over 45 years of experience in supporting the Australian and New Zealand medical imaging industry, Imaging Solutions will act as a reseller of BridgeHead’s Healthcare Data Management Suite of software products, designed to help hospitals to store, protect and share their clinical and administrative healthcare data. BridgeHead expects to expand its footprint in the region through its partnership with Imaging Solutions.
“Imaging Solutions were introduced to us by one of our global technology partners, Laurel Bridge – a leading provider of data migration solutions. When we first engaged, it was clear they were looking for a partner who offered a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) solution to meet their customers’ requirements. By the end of our discussions, Imaging Solutions quickly identified the significant additional benefits that our vision delivers – helping hospitals to take a long-term, strategic view of their data that extends beyond the definitions of a traditional VNA. Once the full potential of BridgeHead’s unique Healthcare Data Management (HDM) Solution was identified, it was a very short time before our relationship was formalised,” explained Andrew Carr, Director of Alliances, BridgeHead Software.
Data volumes, in healthcare, are rising exponentially. Such extensive and continual growth brings a number of challenges for healthcare IT and imaging managers alike. These include how to efficiently store such vast amounts of healthcare data cost effectively; how to safeguard hospital systems and data against loss, misuse or corruption; and how to make these systems and data available to clinicians, across the hospital or hospitals, when they need it, where they need it.
BridgeHead’s Healthcare Data Management (HDM) Solution provides a standards-based software capability that enables hospitals to address many of these challenges, allowing them to meet some of their short-term tactical objectives but, more importantly, offering a long-term strategic solution for the future. The integrated archiving capability, incorporating a VNA, allows the easy and effective management of clinical data such as DICOM and non-DICOM images, Echo and Vascular Ultrasound, and ECG to name a few, as well as unstructured files such as scanned patient documents, emails, PDFs, and other back office documents. In addition, BridgeHead’s HDM Solution is unique in that it offers comprehensive system and data protection through its integrated backup capability. As a result, critical applications and data can be properly protected in the event of system outages, corruptions, data losses or more serious disasters.
“As a company that is 100% focused on healthcare data management, BridgeHead Software is a great strategic fit for Imaging Solutions and our aspirations to extend our offering across the entire hospital enterprise. When we met, we definitely had a ‘meeting of minds’ and quickly appreciated the mutual value and benefit we could offer one another – BridgeHead with its best-of-breed HDM Solution and Imaging Solutions with its established customer base, excellent market reputation and geographical reach. This reseller agreement is a great example of how networks can come together and produce new valuable partnerships,” said Glenn Honey, CEO of Imaging Solutions.
