Napatech introduces latest version of Napatech Software Suite

Napatech has announced the release of the latest version of Napatech Software Suite for its real-time network analysis adapters. This extends Napatech’s unique network analysis features and product support from Linux and FreeBSD to the Windows operating system. Network appliance vendors now have complete flexibility in choosing an operating system for their appliance development projects.

“Napatech is one of the few network equipment vendors that provide Windows support,” said Erik Norup, President and CMO, Napatech. “We are committed to delivering the latest features across all three operating systems, allowing our customers to quickly respond to their end users’ demands for support in different markets.”

Microsoft Windows support will now be available on all PCIe Gen 1 and 2 adapters, allowing an easy migration path to the latest acceleration features provided by Napatech. The release supports Windows 8 and Server 2012 and will provide the same performance across all operating systems.
Napatech Software Suite provides a combination of driver software specific to Linux, FreeBSD and now Windows environments, in addition to advanced features for multi-adapter and multi-application support. This includes data merging from multiple ports on multiple adapters into a single analysis stream. It also includes sharing of data between multiple applications installed on the same server.

With Napatech Software Suite, it is possible for appliance vendors to develop one analysis application that can support multiple configurations based on any mix of Napatech PCIe Gen 1 and PCIe Gen 2 adapters. This enables a full portfolio of appliance solutions with a range of 1 to 40 Gbps port speeds—all supported by one analysis application.
