ebm-papst UK engineer awarded CEng status

Europe’s leading manufacturer of high-efficiency EC fans and motors, ebm-papst, congratulates one of their UK-based electronic design engineers Paul Clarke for achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The achievement recognises his excellent electronic engineering capabilities and also his commitment to his industry and future engineers.

Paul runs a number of blogs including ones within Design Sparks (the RS Components forum) and EE Web.com (an online engineering community), offering his views on various electronic related topics. In addition he is a STEM ambassador (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) and gives his free time encouraging and supporting science and engineering in schools.

At ebm-papst UK he is part of the electronic design team using his analogue, digital and software design skills to develop control systems that complement ebm-papst’s range of high efficient EC fans. The team is in a unique position of understanding the full benefits of EC fan technology with an appreciation of clients’ equipment and empathy for end user’s needs. Recent developments include a system to control and monitor multiple fans and communicate via MODBUS to other parts of a Data Centre application, and a modular control scheme where he developed a unique patented communication system.
