ALVEA enhances cloud-based storage service

New file sync and share feature to enable better team collaboration.

ALVEA Services, the managed security and cloud-based computing solutions provider, has announced enhancements to its ALVEA Cloud Attached Storage service to address the increasing demand for enterprise mobility and BYOD solutions. The service, which has been available to businesses through the ALVEA Reseller network for over two years, allows businesses to protect against the loss or corruption of critical business data by implementing a centralised, cloud-based storage and secure off-site data protection and recovery infrastructure.

The upgraded service now includes file sync and share, mobile security, enhanced data seeding and cloud storage SLA capabilities. It addresses the needs of the mobile workforce to access and collaborate on corporate data using multiple devices and to enable businesses to migrate to the cloud quickly and securely.

“Enterprise mobility and BYOD are key priorities for businesses today yet present their own particular challenges,” said Neil Gardner, ALVEA Services proposition manager. “The new, enhanced features of ALVEA Cloud Attached Storage backed by support and expert advice from our cloud and mobility partners, means that businesses can have peace-of-mind that their data is secure, synchronised and easily accessible in the cloud.”

Key features of the new service include:
· Team Collaboration to allow IT departments to delegate collaboration privileges in a controlled, secure and scalable way
· File sync and share to enable users to synchronise both personal folders and project folders, making it easy to collaborate whilst maintaining consistent access across devices
· Mobile Security Policy to enable remote wipe and “sandboxing” of synchronised files on Apple iOS and Android devices
· Enhanced offline seeding allows businesses to move to the cloud quickly and easily
· Cloud Storage SLAs to allow IT departments to differentiate terms to users based on storage infrastructure features, including redundancy, performance or uptime guarantee
· Microsoft Hyper-V Backup that allows fast backup, replication and recovery of VMs on Hyper-V servers
· Microsoft SharePoint Backup to deliver application-aware backup and recovery of SharePoint servers
· Active Directory Integration including support for complex tree and forest topologies, as well as Kerberos authentication protocols.
