Double coup for Softcat with advanced Symantec Master Specialist certifications

Softcat has achieved its most advanced Symantec accreditations yet in a leap which cements its Symantec technical consultants as among the best in the country. Symantec awarded Softcat the ‘Master Specialisation in Archiving & E-Discovery’, and ‘Master Specialisation in Data Protection’, in a double coup which not only proves the team’s extreme competence in these disciplines, but also grants them priority access to superior post-implementation technical support from Symantec.

Lance Williams, Softcat’s Symantec Business Manager, said, “We’ve achieved this accreditation due to the advanced technical capabilities of our authorised Symantec consultants (ASCs), who underwent a rigorous assessment process with Symantec to prove their expertise. Several of our existing and prospective customers regularly review their data protection and information management strategies, their backup and recovery processes, and the lifecycle management of their data. These new accreditations will assure them that we can give them the best possible Symantec solution with our expertise, completely safe in the knowledge that Symantec trust us as a “safe pair of hands” to operate with their full endorsement.”

He added, “Softcat’s relationship with Symantec has gone from strength to strength over the years, and with this Master certification in two of their core solution areas, it’s only going to get stronger. We’ve been consulting on Enterprise Vault, NetBackup and NetBackup appliances for several years, and these certifications prove to both existing and prospective customers that we have some of the best Symantec consultants in the country.”

Softcat has collaborated with IT security and data protection provider Symantec for over ten years, to provide customers with comprehensive solutions to their workforce and datacentre protection requirements. Softcat is a Platinum Symantec partner, and also holds the following accreditations: Specialist Partner in Encryption Solutions, Specialist Partner in Endpoint Management Solutions, and Specialist Partner in SMB Solutions. Symantec is also utilising Softcat to resell their software to the public sector through the current G-Cloud initiative.

As data growth across the IT world continues to increase exponentially, so does the need for archiving, protecting and backing up that data, especially so that in the event of hardware failure, site loss, malicious outsider attack or simple user error, it’s a lot faster to recover. With its storage, virtualisation and networking capabilities, Softcat can provide a holistic, all-encompassing solution for its customers’ data protection and information management requirements. Whether the customer wants their Symantec NetBackup or Enterprise Vault solution on-premise, hosted or as a managed service, Softcat manages the process from presales to design, to implementation, and, if relevant, through to Cloud Softcat’s extended support, managed or hosted services.
