Ark proud to sponsor young Open golfer

A young golfer sponsored by Ark, a leading provider of high integrity data centres, has qualified for the 142nd Open Championship next week at Muirfield.

Tyrrell Hatton, from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, will be alongside Tiger Woods, Rory Mcllroy, Ian Poulter and a host of other global stars when he tees off on July 18th.

The 21-year-old pro, who also qualified last year, goes into the tournament following a successful completion of final qualifying last week in Scotland.
Tyrrell has been playing, and winning, club titles since the age of just five years old. At the age of 15, he attracted attention from the England U-18's and by 17, he was representing England in the Canadian World Team Junior Challenge and won the Individual.

Over the three years that followed, he continued to shine as an Amateur, resulting in an England cap and a semi-final place in the English Amateur championships. During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Tyrrell went on to finish the Lytham Trophy, Welsh Amateur Open, Portuguese Amateur, and English Amateur in style.

He also played in the 140th Open Championships aged just 18 and won the 2010 Czech Amateur Open. In 2011 he turned professional and in 2012 he made his Challenge Tour debut finishing 8th and has since won four professional events in the last 20 months.

Huw Owen, CEO of Ark, said: “We are proud to be able to sponsor Tyrrell, who is talented and has huge potential, just like Ark.

“Qualifying for the Open is no mean feat and it just shows the path he is on.

“As a company, Ark hopes it can help him on that path and we wish him well when he takes to the famous links at Muirfield later this month.”
Tyrrell Hatton, remarked: “As a young golfer I am very grateful for the support of sponsors such as Ark. What I like the most is the chance to meet their clients at their golf days and play my small part in helping this great business be more successful, thank you Huw, Steve Hall and the team at Ark “
