NGD helps UK’s next generation of global technology entrepreneurs

Next Generation Data (NGD) announced today has been selected by the Alacrity Foundation to provide colocation hosting facilities at its NGD Europe mega data centre. This will enable postgraduate entrepreneurs to develop and test their latest software innovations on behalf of global technology companies.

Jointly funded by the Welsh Government and through private philanthropy, Newport-based Alacrity Foundation offers UK graduates the opportunity to develop, commercialize and bring to market products and services identified by the Foundation’s global technology partners. Alacrity offers successful project teams the opportunity of forming technology companies and receiving funding and mentoring support.

“Alacrity and its partners are committed to increasing the UK’s success in the global technology sector by helping more graduates acquire the essential product development and business skills,” said Raman Mistry, Alacrity’s Chief Operating Officer. “Being aligned to real market opportunities already identified by our technology sponsors ensures graduates of the Alacrity Foundation will have an invaluable head start to an entrepreneurial future with the potential of forming their own technology businesses. The Alacrity Foundation is grateful for the support and contribution that NGD are making to this endeavor.”

Commented Nick Razey, NGD’s Chief Executive Officer: “We are delighted to be helping the Alacrity Foundation with secure hosting facilities. They share our passion for making Wales a world-class technology centre and are attracting some of the very best entrepreneurial and technology talent into the area from universities throughout the UK. NGD looks forward to seeing many more Wales-based technology success stories in the future as a result of this exciting initiative.”

The Alacrity Foundation’s 12 month postgraduate programme facilitates the following:
