Palo Alto Networks selects Ping Identity

Palo Alto Networks™, the network security company, has chosen PingFederate to provide single sign-on (SSO) to its customers accessing support sites and its employees accessing the applications they need daily.

“Ping Identity has established itself as a leader in cloud identity security and customer confidence about the security of Ping’s products was an important deciding factor. In addition, Ping offered the flexibility we needed,” said Allan Rixen, head of IT at Palo Alto Networks. “With PingFederate in place, our customers are thrilled to have smooth, secure SSO access to the support sites they use each day for product updates, self-service support and reporting.”

Palo Alto Networks has a large number of sites that require log-ins, with thousands of people logging in multiple times per day. In addition, provisioning and de-provisioning access also became process-heavy and costly. The company initially began the PingFederate rollout to 6,000 customers with SSO to five support sites and plans to expand to additional customer-facing sites over time to a broader customer base. With Ping Identity solutions, Palo Alto Networks is now able to scale SSO and provide its customers with the user experience and secure access they need daily. The process of provisioning and de-provisioning users is much smoother and will provide significant customer satisfaction as the company grows over time.

In addition, the company will use Ping Identity’s cloud identity management solutions to provide its employees with SSO access to the applications they use internally. Employees will have SSO access to nearly a dozen applications they use daily, including popular third-party cloud applications and internal Web-based tools.
