AppDynamics hires Jeremy Duggan as VP of EMEA Sales

AppDynamics, Inc., the next-generation application performance management company that simplifies the management of complex web applications, says that Jeremy Duggan, a veteran of software sales at BMC and BladeLogic, has joined the company as VP of EMEA Sales.

Responsible for the company’s entire line of sales and go-to-market initiatives in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Jeremy will set his sights on accelerating a growth engine that exploded 300% over the past twelve months and added significant customers such as Hotels.com, Betfair, IG Index, Expedia UK, Unibet, Karavel.com, and Galeries Lafayette.

Prior to joining AppDynamics Jeremy was the EMEA Vice President at BMC, joining BMC after its acquisition of Bladelogic for $900 million, which represented the highest multiple paid for any public technology company that year. At BladeLogic Jeremy led the most profitable, productive, and fastest-growing region in the company, and prior to BladeLogic Jeremy achieved similar results running EMEA at Ascential software.

“I’m enthusiastic about the amazing growth story that AppDynamics has created and the opportunity to scale its already-impressive EMEA operations,” said Jeremy Duggan. “It’s a rare phenomenon to find an enterprise software company that has such fast time-to-value and an immediate impact on its customers’ ability to solve problems. AppDynamics’ ‘consumer’ approach to B2B sales and marketing allows its prospects to install and use their software with no training or assistance, a high-velocity, frictionless approach that has completely disrupted the application performance management space. I’m looking forward to helping drive the company’s customer acquisition efforts and being a part of its maniacal focus on customer success, as evidenced by its industry-leading Net Promoter Score of 82.”

“Jeremy is one of the top sales executives on the planet and the perfect choice to harness our EMEA growth engine and take it to the next level,” said Joe Sexton, President of Worldwide Field Operations at AppDynamics. “His tremendous track record at BMC and BladeLogic demonstrates the strength and scalability of his unique formula for running a software organisation. Jeremy’s unmatched eye for key talent and his ability to unlock the potential of his sales teams make him the perfect choice to continue AppDynamics’ aggressive growth plans and disruption in the enterprise software space.”

IG, a leading provider of financial spread betting and CFDs, is an AppDynamics customer in the UK. Ivan Gowan, Head of IT Development at IG commented, “We rely on AppDynamics to provide real time monitoring of the performance of our trading systems and it’s good to see them enjoying their success and growing so fast. Their commitment to innovation and their customer experience aligns closely with our own. This, and their commitment to working closely with us, is what ensures our relationship goes from strength to strength.”

Having recently completed a funding round of $50 million led by Institutional Venture Partners with contributions from Greylock Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Kleiner Perkins, AppDynamics has opened a new office in Bracknell, England. Jeremy will hire quickly to fill out the sales team and rapidly scale EMEA field operations.
