Datum announces its partnership with Vtesse to deliver high bandwidth connectivity into its newly built datacentre, located in the highly secure QinetiQ Cody Technology Park, in Farnborough.
Vtesse has implemented diverse fibre routes into the site to provide Datum clients with fully resilient, high bandwidth connectivity and IP Transit service. The solution provides connectivity into Vtesse’s robust, agile and rapidly expanding Reconfigurable Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) Network, which now connects more than 50 datacentres in London and the South East.
Commenting on the partnership, Dominic Phillips, Managing Director of Datum, says, “The Vtesse partnership represents an important foundation to Datum’s datacentre and colocation services; ensuring that our clients can experience the full benefit of Vtesse’s high performance network infrastructure. “
Phillips continues, “Our ethos is all about a totally client-focused approach and Vtesse has already proven their capability to deliver connectivity solutions that ensure we can provide clients with rapid deployment, incremental capacity, and cost-effective bespoke connectivity solutions; with lead times in weeks not months.”
Datum officially launched its Farnborough datacentre in January 2013, being the first of a network of regionally located, environmentally intelligent, carrier neutral datacentres delivering the most energy efficient colocation on the market. The datacentres are specifically designed to maximise energy efficiency using proven cost effective cooling technology, to reduce carbon footprint and costs.
David Wickham, CEO, Vtesse adds, “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Datum to underpin such an integral part of its datacentre services. At Vtesse, we are committed to delivering key connectivity requirements on-time and to a high standard, making our networking expertise a perfect fit for Datum’s fresh, client-focused, environmentally intelligent approach to the market.”
